Memories for the Mr.: 5 Bachelor Party Ideas

When you’re the best man in charge of planning a bachelor party that your crew will remember for years to come, the pressure is enormous. You have to think about convenience for every man invited to the party, ensure that the planned activities blend well with the groom’s personality and interests, and make sure it doesn’t turn into yet another boring night at the strip club. It’s best to keep it small, take the groom by surprise, and incorporate one of the following ideas to give your celebration a memorable spin.

  • Create an evening of sophistication. Trade G-strings and stilettos for quality cigars and beer for a whiskey or wine tasting. Rather than a rowdy stripper, bring in costumed exotic dancers with a bit more class but just as much eye candy. This isn’t the party for every groom, but it will certainly appeal to many men uninterested in the typical party atmosphere. You may even throw in poker or another game of choice.
  • Make it a weekend adventure. There’s no rule limiting a bachelor party to a single night, so take your buddy out for three or four days of excitement. You may blend sightseeing and other vacation activities with the party atmosphere typically assumed for a bachelor party.
  • Select an unexpected designation. Maybe $50,000 for a party in Puerto Vallarta is far beyond your budget, but there’s no reason to stick to the usual hangouts. If you have access to a privately-owned field, you may create an overnight bonfire. Rather than sticking to familiar restaurants and strip clubs, go somewhere new in a neighboring town. Look for venues with fun options, such as eating sushi off of a naked woman’s body or watching chefs fire up the food at your table.
  • Make it a sports party. Is the groom a super fan of a particular team? If so, try to coordinate the party to a big game, and then extend the fun into the night. For instance, start with the Super Bowl and end with an intense game at the bowling alley, beer with dinner, and a trip to an adult venue.
  • Combine the bachelor and bachelorette parties, rent a party bus, and tour their relationship. The starting point is the location where they first met, and everyone departs the bus for a massive party somewhere close to the wedding venue where their dating life will soon end. Make stops at the site of their first kiss, their first date, and other memorable moments of their journey to the altar. You may even stop at their parent’s homes and allow the parents to serenade them with sappy stories that may lead to embarrassment. You should have a good time at a bachelor party. Think about the groom’s unique interests, and then come up with something that shows the thought you put into the celebration.
